Digipage Remote Wiring
Some installers have returned Digipage Remote
Wall Panels to us stating that they don’t work. In all cases so far
we have found that the units are not faulty and the problem stems
from the way that they are wired by the contractor.
The Digipage manual outlines the wiring
colours for the Ethernet wiring standard T-568A only. However,
not all installations will be wired this way and may be wired for
T-568B. (In fact, it appears that most Ethernet CAT5 cables you
buy are wired to standard 568B). This makes a big difference when
connecting these devices up! If you look at the colour codes
below, you can see that the differences between standard 568A and
568B
are easily recognisable.

Make sure that you know which standard you
are wiring to before connecting the unit up and the remote should
work first time.
If in doubt as to which standard you have,
simply measure the 18V power line on the cable to find out which
colour standard it is wired to.
Plug the RJ45 Plug end into the Digipage and
note that for standard 568A, you can measure 18V across cables
"White/Green" and "Green" and standard 568B you can measure 18V
across "White/Orange" and "Orange".
Once you know this, just wire up the remote
as per one of the methods shown below.
