Digipage Modification to bypass wall plate level for paging.

 

Some customers have requested that the master zone volume control be bypassed when paging so that paging cannot be turned down or off from the Digipage R remote wall plates.

By default, the unit doesn't do this but if you need this operational mode a simple modification has to be done to the Digipage unit. 

We can do this for you at a small charge or you can do it yourself using the method shown below. It should take about 30-45 minutes to perform. 

First, disconnect the unit from the mains supply and remove the top cover.  Next remove the retainer bar which holds the cards in. You then need to remove the 8 cards marked PCB 6292.  These are the smaller of the two cards per channel (see below).

Each card has to be modified thus:

The track which joins the top of R8 (the Page Level pot) to the other pots R9,R10 should be cut as shown below:

Next, add a wire link as shown from the bottom of R15 to the R8 (pot) side of the track break.  See below.

Re-assemble the unit taking care not to short the wires of the indicator LED's together.

Once the mod is done, paging level is now not controlled by the remote wall plates or the up/down front panel controls. Note that if you have a zone that you don't want to be locked like this, merely leave the respective channel as it is.

That's it. - Easy really.....

And finally, note via a sticker on the rear that the unit has been modified!
